I’m working on a new album titled “Box of Harmonic Propulsion”, which is dedicated to my new Spaceship XXX that I bought from the Tesla Mars dealership. The only way to drive it is by playing music. Amazing… anyhow, I digress.

Here are the lyrics for a song on this album that I think are pretty clever:

The Man Who Got Stuck in a Metaphor

[Verse 1]
Took the road less traveled—now I’m stuck in the mud
Every setback’s a “lesson,” but I’ve learned quite enough
They said, “chase your dreams,” so I ran out of breath
I climbed every ladder—guess what’s waiting? More steps

[Pre-Chorus]
I’ve waded through rivers, I’ve weathered the storms
But I just want a weekend where my feet stay warm

[Chorus]
I’m tired of crossing bridges just to watch them burn
Tired of chasing dreams that always twist and turn
Don’t wanna be a phoenix, I don’t need to rise
Can I just go home and live a normal life?

[Verse 2]
They say, “what doesn’t kill you makes a story to tell”
But I’d rather be boring than a cautionary tale
“Follow the stars,” yeah, I’ve read that script
It led me in circles—I think I got tricked

[Pre-Chorus]
I painted my sunsets, I bled for the prose
But what if I don’t wanna be some tragic hero?

[Chorus]
I’m tired of climbing ladders that don’t lead anywhere
Tired of playing chess when I just need a chair
I don’t need to be a legend, I don’t want the lore
Can I just go home and lock the metaphor’s door?

[Bridge]
No more “winds of fate,” no more “tides that pull”
No more cryptic nonsense in a fortune scroll
No more “hearts on sleeves” or “battles to win”
I don’t need a comeback—just let me stay in

[Final Chorus]
I’m tired of crossing bridges just to watch them burn
Tired of chasing dreams when they all take a turn
I don’t need a journey, I don’t need the fight
Can I just go home and live a normal life?

[Outro]
So I packed up my suitcase full of tired clichés
Stepped out of the story and walked away
No curtain call, no grand refrain
Just me on a porch—watching it rain…
…and for once, not reading into it.
